What equipment do I need to have before getting on Texas CellNet service?

All that is needed is a computer or Mac if you are only connecting one device. We mount an antenna outside (on your property) as part of your install and run a CAT5 or network cable inside your home or business. Once the cable comes inside through a wall or the attic, it will run into the room where your computer or router is. Our radio outside on the antenna is powered through a power outlet in your home by a device we plug the network cable into called a Power over Ethernet injector or PoE.

Do I need to be home for a tech to come review my location to see if I am eligible for the service?

Unless you have unfriendly pets or a locked gate, no one needs to be onsite for us to do a survey. What most interests us is your latitude & longitude, and Line of Site (LoS) from your location to our tower. If it is necessary for you to be there you can request it and we will call you before coming.

How would I connect more than one computer to your service?

A router allows the interconnection of two networks, one which is inside the computers in your home and the second network being our service.

What is the best router to purchase that has the features needed for Texas CellNet service?

Most stores like Wal-Mart & Best Buy have a range of routers from $39 to $150 but your most basic wireless or wired router (depending on your needs) will work great on our service.
